We slept one night in the Hotel Garcilaso #2 and enjoyed our 5th straight night without hearing a single noise (the first 4 were in the Inka Lodge hostel in Lima). That´s kind of amazing considering the amount of travelers there are in such places and the quality of the walls' isolation. Well that was a weird experience. It is funny how your perceptions change so quickly. A month ago the hectic and noisy disorganisation of Ecuadorian buses and bus stations were disconcerting. Arrived here via the super luxurious Cruz del Sur. We nearly forgot that we were on a bus, not a business class flight. Unfortunately hostel check in time is 1pm :( 4 hours to go.... tired and stinking. And Rob lost his credit card in Piura. bleah.

We had a great flight to Lima (no cheeky upgrades this time) and have done a far bit since we arrived in Peru. Whilst at the airport in Ecuador we saw some members of the Ecuador Olympic team, we saw 5, so either they are sending a very small team or they are meeting up with others later! Well well, our first night bus experience to the most dangerous city in the world (what some say anyway). We travelled with Cruz del Sur which is supposed to be a pretty good experience. Seats almost fully recline with loads of leg room, meals, movies, hostess.....and it really was great! Lima, you hate it or you love it. This is the impression we had during our trip talking to people about this grey city in the middle of Peru.
