New Orleans What a crazy place! Bourbon Street in the French Quarter is madder than it sounds (especially for someone whose previous exposure was a bar at Highpoint Shopping Centre by the same name). Oh my God, I'm in New Orleans about 6 hours and I've been out partying on Bourbon St and its totally crazy. They don't believe in buying a drink so every drink is 3 for 1 - i.e. buy 1 get 3 - saw a ton of bands as everywhere you walk into is free on the door and I also hit a Gentlemans Club and saw that - met a nice girl also in one of the bars who liked my accent - meeting her tmrw when she gets off work - I've been here 6 hours and I could keep going all night - this place is awesome. New Orleans is seriously a 24 nightlife. Bourbon Street is great. Mon Tues - it doesn't matter. After 3 days at the India Hostel, $15 night and a pool, close to the French quarter (downtown)a little bit of site seeing around the Gradens and magazine and Cemetaries mostly architecture, and a Voodoo museum tour - I went to the bayou. New Orleans, located in Southern Louisiana and is famous for two thing, Its Jazz music and the damage inflicted by Hurricane Katrina. The latter is still visible 3 years on. Just walking from the Greyhound terminal to the hostel you pass under the interstate flyover which is resident to numerous homeless folks as well as passing by boarded up houses in desperate need of repair. Je prends le petit-déj vers 10 heures et discute avec Sophie (France) et Joshua (Angleterre) et décidons d'aller faire un tour sur les marécages avec un bateau à air. De retour de l'aéroport où j'ai changé la voiture chez avis, je vais en ville en tram. Je fais beaucoup de photos dans le quartier français, mange un gumbo au fruits de mer et un Poo Boy (hamburger dans du pain "français"). Puis, après une petite sieste, je vais au Rock'n Bowl avec Joshua pour une soirée Zydeco. Christine (Canada) et Norna (Colombie) de l'auberge nous rejoignent. Ce sont 2 profs en Caroline avec VIF.
