Guarani 70 Puerto Iguazu, Province of Misiones, Litoral, Argentina
... of Puerto Iguazu on the Argentinian side of the falls gone 11pm and quickly realised that we had landed slap bang in the middle of an Argentinian Bank Holiday weekend. Everywhere was completely full and we were told by a number of hostels that there was no chance of getting a bed in the town...fantastic.

We were approached by a Ukranian guy called Andrei who said he could find us accommodation. After the trials of Bolivia our "scam radar" was ...
Puerto Iguazu, Argentina sheerin09... creamed spinach, sweet potato pie, sponge cake topped with berry-mousse, and red wine to drink. Then more coffee and cookies, then CHAMPAGNE! It was the most luxurious bus ride we had ever been on. The time flew by because they showed two movies in the evening, then another in the morning (all US films in Engligh with Spanish subtitles). We arrived into Puerto Iguazu around 10am Wednesday morning.

It was too early to get into our room at the Marcopolo Inn Hostel so ...
Puerto Iguazu, Litoral, Argentina leahrob... crawl and allowed us to take some pictures. We were then all told to make sure cameras, shoes etc were safely put away in the waterproof bags, before the driver rammed the throttle and absolutely gunned the boat towards the waterfalls. He slowed as we got right next to the falling water, but we all got absolutely drenched - it was like having a cold shower. You also couldn`t see as the spray was so fierce. I wasn`t prepared for how wet we`d get - while the three other guys all ...
Puerto Iguazu, Argentina alastair6... Then the life jackets came out and I knew that I wasnt getting out of this one! We boarded HMS Death for a ride down the Rio Iguazu! To my horror, we were headed right for one massive waterfall! Or course, I hadnt showered in a day or so but I would have happily waited until I got back to the hostel. However, tour operators dont take nicely to ´´ for **** sake¨´, ¨get me to **** off¨´, etc. and we were all set for a ...
Puerto Iguazu, Litoral, Argentina sharkenj... both bought laptops. King only went in to help her get a good one and ended up buying one for himself as well.

On the second day, we went to the Argentinian side of the falls. The falls are split at the deepest point, so part is in Brazil and part is in Argentina. It was still raning quite a lot but it meant that there was much more water falling, which is kinda what you go to a waterfall to see. We got a train then walked to the ...
Foz de Iguacu, State of Parana, Brazil samcohen1987... covered everything.

Highlights included standing above the famous Devil's Throat waterfall (the platform is literally on the lip) and a jet boat ride into a few of the waterfalls. We thought we had invested in quite good waterproof gear but when water is pouring down the front of your jacket, nothing is going to keep you dry.
Puerto Iguazu, Litoral, Argentina anthonykathryn... We had Mumm champagne for £6 a bottle! In particular I liked a type of Argentinean red wine called Malbec and I’d be really interested if anyone could tell me if you can spot it in the UK next time you’re out and about in supermarkets. Once again we ate like kings and the traditional barbeque had the mouth watering steaks we were expecting as well as some bits we weren’t. We tried some intestine, heart and liver all cooked on the barbeque ...
Iguazu Falls, Argentina samsonite32... in common.

The BBQ was really tasty and only 6 euro. It was a brazilian night aswell so there were some Brazilian dancers - to be honest they were not great but it was the audience participatation that was the funny thing - our buddie Dan was up dancing with them. There are alot of British lads here and things started to get messier as the night went on with them playing drinking games. We stuck to our own little Irish table and had the proverbial craic!

Puerto Iguazu, Litoral, Argentina coleauxv... try and move on immediately and push towards the Pantanal (which everytime we try and investigate gets blocked by supervisory web programs, presumably due to the last 2 sylables?!) before heading up to the north east corner of the country and hopefully some beach action!

Lots of love,

Al & Katie xx
