    ... wooden planks they bounced and between the wood slats you could see the gorge below. I'm not afraid of heights but this one had me holding on to the railing. The castle was so incredible. King Ludwig II certainly knew how to build castles: in his other job running the Bavarian Empire he don't do so well.     ... very nice trails and the waterfall, and had a dip in the opaque with a touch of white water. If the river wasn't lined with painful cobble rock it would have been our best swimming hole ever.     We picked up our car in Munich, got out of town by 11:00. We had decided to save Salzburg, Austria, for the end of the loop, so instead we headed south and west into Bavaria. Didn't get lost too many times trying to get out of Munich!

    Got to Fussen about 5:00, got checked in, did a short walk around town, then found a beer garden. The real work starts tomorrow.
