15 Rue Meyerbeer Nice, French Riviera - Cote d'Azur, Provence, France, 6000
We arrived in Nice at around 8:00pm, had some pretty good Chinese food, walked along the water on the boardwalk, then went to bed. We woke up, had a shower, ran to catch a train to Rome at 10:05am. Our stay in Nice was very brief. The Cote d'Azur was gorgeous. Riding the train through Tuscany was unbelievable. We will have to come back and visit the coast and Tuscany another time. Words cannot describe the countryside and the views of the water. Pictures do not do it justice. We are now in Ro...
Nice, Provence, France chaseandandriaAfter I left the internet cafe in Cinque Terre, I had 20 minutes to pack my things and make it down to the bus station. The birds knew I was talking smack about them because when I got back and took my clothes off the clothes line, I saw a bird had decided to relieve himself on one of my shirts. Since I didn't have time to mess with it, I just cussed out the birds again, wrapped the shirt around the bird ****, and shoved it in my bag (where it's still sitting because I haven't wanted to deal ...
Nice, Provence, France ladysadoBeautiful pebble beaches, greenery cascading over the cliffs, turquoise water, rolling hills with incredible ivory stucco homes with red ceramic rooftops, posh shopping and cute little outdoor restaurants and cafes serving the finest mixtures of french and italian cuisine... this is what we experienced in the south of France for 5 days. This place has definitely made it to our top 3 (even though it's hard to say there's such a thing since we've enjoyed every place so much!) We had originally ...

... staff than patrons. Cost €10 to get in! The interior is like one of the palaces I’ve been too; plush seats; pull levers on the pokies. The tables are old-style with the croupiers using real rakes to literally rake the money in. Even the toilets are self-cleaning. The whole place is quite surreal. Not as big as I imagined, and I think it was quiet because u had to pay, whereas the casino at my hotel was always packed & free entry with ...
Monaco, Monaco travellingross... the most beautiful boats in the world are in MonteCarlo...
Language is more interesting in france. If we try to do the simple tourist things then most people can work out what is going on but when we try something else eg. going to the doctor (sue has been sick) going to a chemist.. or finding a Laundamatt.. then the language thiig is a bit more animated....
have some grat pics of Nice and French Rivierra to show when we get home...
... Monday’ by the Bangles at the airport. Too true...
12hrs after i checked out of my Barcelona hotel, i am in Monte Carlo!!!!! Luckily got the last bus from the Nice airport to Monaco. Amazing bus trip here. I think i was wide-eyed and jaw dropped for much of it. Although it is night, you can see some amazing views, yachts and cross some bridges with HUGE drop-offs down into the coastal valley. The streets truly are Grand Prix style. Can't wait to ...
... the morning shift I ran to the railway station. The return ticket to Monte Carlo was only 5 Euros, and the journey last 15-20 minutes. The views were gorgeous, but the best one was the old town of Monte Carlo and it`s cars. Jeeez! Amazing! Moreover, they would stop in order to let you pass through - before you even got to zebra. I had a very limited time, but the things I saw there made me convinced it was not my last time in Monaco.
... themed bar in the heart of Nice. Besides the fact that it was kind of strange to be surrounded by Viking paraphernalia while in France, the live band (which was very good) played Incubus and Jason Mraz, along with other American songs. That’s something else that I’ve noticed here: strangely, the American Top 40 playlist is everywhere.
We spent all of Saturday in Nice, and Sunday we decided to take a day trip to Monaco - read on!
... not to have to carry food around all day we would go out for dinner that evening. On arriving at our destination town we were immediately led away, up and over a hill that seemed to last forever to the campsite on the shore of a nearby lake. Unfortunately with nowhere to eat at the campsite this meant we would have to trudge back up and over into town for dinner, cue a massive thunderstorm and torrential rain. Sat in the tent at this point things wern't looking good ...
