Fabulous spot right on the beach but sporadic service, no bar, dingy, dirty and to top it off ant and termite infestations!

    Mancora - Happy New Year!

A travel blog entry by mattandelisha on Jan 01, 2013

Today we slept in till 12 o'clock after getting home late from New Year's Eve celebrations. We lazed around and I went to the beach for a swim.

I sat on the beach while Elisha was feeling low on energy and she went for a lie down in the room.

We ordered sandwiched and milk shakes at the hotel for lunch.

    After lunch we …

    Mancora - Long Lefts

I woke up and checked the surf. It was mid tide and about 2-3 feet. So I went and hired a board. This time I got a 6'3 but real thick. I paddled out for a surf while Elisha was still in bed. The waves are really long here you can catch a wave from out the back and along the reef all the way to the shore.

After breakfast we went for a walk …

We had a great sleep in the juice quiet room. We slept in an went down for breakfast. The waves were a little smaller than last night about 2ft. I found out that the tide effects them a lot just like in Montanita. It was low tide at the moment.

Time for a swim. We got changed and hit the beach. This place was great everyone hung out and …

And on to Peru. Beach life in Mancora.

The day dawned stupidly early for a rather long bus journey to Peru. We have a cheeky nice bus before we move into the public domain. I am mostly excited today about our homemade tuna and avo rolls which we powered through to make the night before (struggling to drain the olive oil down el banos). My travel tablet is unfortunately non drowsy so I …

Firstly, thanks for your messages guys, it's so lovely to hear from you back home. Well, I've had one hell of an introduction to Peru, Mancora is absolutely beautiful. I've loved every single experience before now but here, I actually feel like I'm on holiday...sandy beaches and a clear blue sky with a hotel that's so close to the warm sea I can …
