After roughly 30 hours of travelling, we finally landed in Lima around lunch time. Whilst here I stayed at Hotel Espana, Jr. Azangaro 105 (between Jr. Ancash and Jr. Junín), Tel: (+511) 428-5546, Web: www.hotelespanaperu.com . This is one of the more popular backpacker spots in downtown Lima and is ideally located three blocks from the Plaza de Armas. They offer a choice of rooms set over three floors of an elegant nineteenth century mansion that is full of fine artwork. A dorm is 16 soles; single is 33 or 45 soles - the latter with private bathroom; double is 45 or 55 soles - the latter with private bathroom and a triple is 57 or 66 soles with a private bathroom. They also have free Wi-Fi and a rooftop terrace that serves breakfast. If you ask for a bit of discount, and let them know that you intend on staying for three or more nights then they will discount the private room rates.
