When I saw the sign for the Hotel Bellerive, as I approached, I was relieved. It has been a long day. I took about an hour to find the right way out of Kenitra, in the direction I wanted to go. Considering there are usually three possible routes - motorway, main road, or back roads, some signage for each is necessary. The only sign I could see was the motorway to Rabat. When it became clear that the main road did not break off at the motorway intersection, I went onto the motorway and asked t...
Casablanca, Morocco jeremyhill
... like I’m in the movie Aladin. I will attempt to begin.

We started the walk out of the port and we were immediately bombarded by cab drivers on the street trying to get us into their cab and just shouting and complete raucous. Also, dead fish all over the ground, trash everywhere and a hideous smell. Not impressed with the outskirts of the Casablanca port, but it gets much better farther into the city. We ended up walking a mile or so before ...
Casablanca, Morocco bridgetbomhack... back in the USA I started learning how to build a website. I have built this website for Zaid and his family to help them prosper in their buisness. Please take a look at www.boulaaouantours.com Pick a tour or contact Zaid to design your personal tour.
Casablanca, Morocco gloshiv... on underneath but it still scared the hell out of me) He makes a muscle while pointing at me then proceeds to try to touch my pecs After I decide its a little too weird for me he gives me a big bear hug and doesnt let go very easy He then asks what room I am in to which I gave a fake number As many of you know my story of being held by the Russian at knifepoint these events were getting a little too familiar ...
Casablanca, Morocco mightyseven... of the ride and went to grab a cup of tea at the cafe across the street. a good exercise i've found to help me brush up/learn another language (besides pestering people)is to watch TV in that language. I didn't think a documentary on Narwhales was going to be any help, but i thought i'd give it a go and snuggled in to one of the only seats left (a prime whale watching seat, if you could see through the cigarette smoke). i sat, making whales sounds in my head (at least i ...
Casablanca, Morocco troseen... more food - lamb brochettes and rice salad down into our already massively full bellies. I can honestly say that the meal was the best I have ever experienced (and eaten) in my life. We ate together from the center plate, around a coffee-table-high round table. It was probably my most memorable experience from the trip, and I really got along well with my newly adopted relatives. We laughed together while I frantically tried to translate everything from French into English ...
Casablanca, Morocco liz23... and Paris, there was a heated argument between two male passengers two seats behind us once the ``fasten seatbelt'' sign was turned off. It was all in Arabic, and was settled when another man offered to change seats; but it was interesting! They also fumigated the flight with a flight attendant wandering down the centre of the plane holding two bottles of spray towards the ceiling. Something I haven't seen before; Shellie mentioned they do this for flights back from Fiji as well!
Casablanca, Morocco pgdavis... smoking cubicles in the terminal. Lots of shops. Soon we are on our way to Casablanca. We fly over fields that look like big, well organised farms. Casablanca airport is very modern and we walk straight through, pretty much. Alyson gets chatting to some 50 something ladies from Australia or NZ in the queue. We re-group in the "commercial" area. Not many shops, but all functional. Successfully draw money from the ATM. Make our way downstairs to the ...
Casablanca, Morocco mariannegardner... built in the 1930's. It has absolutely nothing in it but some pretty stained glass windows. I decided to climb to the top of the spire - all the while trying to avoid the pigeons, the poo and getting poo-ed on! One pigeon came out of his hidey-hole and scared the poo out of me! At the top (I kept clapping the whole way up the stairs to scare the birds away) I was rewarded with fantastic views of Casablanca ...
Casablanca, Morocco chooklotto... guide for because its literally a labrynth of narrow streets full of people selling fruits and meats and jewelry and rugs and people in their little shops fixing anything from your high heels to sharpening your knife. Surprisingly the streets were very clean! And we ate camel bugers which were very tasty! It was a very intersting fun city. Very moroccain and traditional. It was like going back in time. Because no cars are allowed in the medina. They can ...
