    ... and the bikes were constantly getting knocked over. Perhaps even worse than Christopher was Phillipp the Austrian who didn't even have pegs or an outside sheet for his tent (that was also far too small for him, so his head would stick out the front)! Not quite sure how he managed, but he'd cycled from Buenos Aires and had survived so I guess that's all you really need. As I said, we managed to sell our bikes onto a couple of Argentinian guys who lived in El Chalten. ...

    ... bike and let gravity do the work….sort of. The excursion was called Cross Fire Mountain Bike - basically downhill all the way from the top of a mountain. Half the fun began as we ascended the mountain in a 4x4 truck. Usually the excursion uses a chairlift, but because the wind was sooooo crazy today, it was not operating. Please remember that I mentioned that today was very windy!

    ... even had a table cloth. The hotel has lots of special treats for us. Next, we visited the National Park head quarters before driving down to Lago Grey. We walked over a suspension bridge which was swinging quite wildly from the wind and then we walked through some gravelly sand to where the boat collects the passengers.     ... before the boat return at 12.30 pm. This was to see Glacier Grey. The guides had warned us about the pace and told us that at the point of return if we hadn't made it we would have to retrace our steps regardless.
