Cotopaxi, premier 5000 !
Snow, Bikes and Knees!
So you´re on the Ecuador and what sort of weather do you expect? Not snow anyway - especially on a Volcano. There's something that just seems a little bit wrong about the whole combination! But nevertheless I spent Sunday climbing a Volcano in the snow! Got up at some ungodly hour like 5.30 in order to finish packing my rucksack and say the good …
Everybody say "Chimenea"!
We woke up to an unusually clear & sunny morning, where both we could see both volcanoes which flanked our hilltop hostel. After a quick breakfast of bananas and Nesquik (mmmmm i love Nesquik!), we headed down and caught the very first passing bus to Quito. That took us all of 40 seconds to get out of the cab and onto the bus. Ecuador's …
Interesting way to settle in
Question: (so tell me what you think about me - Destiny's Child) what do you usually do after a long haul flight? Take it easy? Go for a casual stroll to get used to your surroundings? Not me. I climbed a mountain. Hell yeah! It was one of the hardest things physically I have ever had to do. It was steep, it was sandy, I was jetlagged, I wasn't …

TravelPod Member ReviewsHosteria-PapaGayo Machachi
The rooms were nice, but the hot water was a bit temperamental. The jacuzzi only worked after 7pm and was a bit dirty. There weren't enough horses for everyone. However, the staff were friendly, if a little overstretched. The setting was beautiful, the dogs were friendly but not mangy and the food was good (apart from the mango juice). Good value for money, although a bit of a pain to get to by bus.
