That night we took a bus over to Valeria del Mar, a cute town between Pinamar and Carilo where we enjoyed churros rellenos con dulce de leche, alfajores artesenales de Goleta (a shop with a couple in their late 70s that have been there for 20 years and he an active Rotarian), and then over to Calogero for pizza and empananadas (deservedly recommended by Marga from the hotel). Off the back packer trail - the Pampas: We decided to see the Atlantic coast and the pampas south of BA - grass, cows, fences, a few trees, and lagoons. The pampas are the vast areas of flat grass lands that make up the majority of the Argentine countryside. There really isn't much else to see out in these ares, so the guide books don't spend much time on them. A person is much more likely to see Argentine tourists ...

We headed back to Buenos Aires in the afternoon, stopping in a Gaucho town to visit a shop selling traditional gaucho things. Then we travelled to Delores, the next town and stopped for lunch at a roadside restauran. There they are cooking meat outside by an open fire. We tried ‘Chiripan’, fresh chorizo in bread.

... This ensures the cows have enough grass to only eat off the land without needing anything else to make them big.

In Mar de Plata we spotted sea lions and walked around the docks. It reminded us of Whistable in England, without the Sea Lions and with better sea food.
