Travel Blogs from Popayan
Greetings from Colombia!!
Hello friend and welcome to my travel blog!

The discovery of Arepa's
After a good nights sleep we decided to go grab ourselves some breakfast
and explore Popayan. The town isn't huge so we got our walking shoes on
to investigate. The town is full of two storey whitewashed buildings,
very colonial and quite pretty. Our first stop was at an Arepa shop.
Arepa's are like potato cakes but made with …

Christmas Rehearsal-
Woke up in Pasto where Easton finally showered and removed the miner face from her pretty self;-) We had some free tinto (Colombian black coffee) and leftover pizza while catching up on notes and getting ready for the day. It feels good to be …
Popayan
Asaf We needed to break up the trip down to the Colombia-Ecuador border so we decided to stop in Popayan for our last night in Colombia. It would have made it easier for us if we had gone further south for the night (our trip the next day took 11 hours by bus) but we had heard good things about Popayan. It´s suppose to be the best preserved …
Colombia Calling ...
Today was a full on day of overland travel which took us into the southern part of Colombia to a town called Popayan. We got up and had a nice early breakfast which the hostel owner had been kind enough to arrange for us and a cab arrived at 7.30am to take us on the first leg of the journey to the bus station to the north of Quito.

Scottish Kim and Tony do a great job managing this place. Ideal for backpackers. Thanks

we stayed just for 1 night, but this hostel is a very nice place with all animities backpackers would need. rooms are simple, but very clean like the whole place, positiv to mention is the nice book exchange and the fast, cheap lavanderia service.

Good stop over place, bit noisy if room onto the road, but did not matter as we did not stay long here.

The owners are really friendly and cool and provided all kinds of information about activities and sightseeing in Popayan. The rooms are simple but clean and comfortable. There is a great living room space, book exchange, kitchens, and little dining area. The location is very good and they hostel also organizes some activities. I would reccommend this to other travelers!

Very friendly and helpful staff, good bathroom, kitchen, internet (which is charged)... Highly recommended $16.000 for dorm bed

Great place run by a nice Scottish couple. The town can be a bit transient but worth a pit stop between going or coming from Ecuador.
