Nice Hostel with free breakfast, near everything by walk. Room for 10 is intimate with little section in it.

nice to find a hostel with fixed wooden bunks not creaky metal frames, loved how the 10 bed dorms were sectioned into smaller parts so you at least got a bit more space and werent on top of eachother..... unfortunately the air con was VERY noisy and clunky and didnt do anything to cool the room down but it was very clean, bathrooms were fine and the communal areas were good too. Within walking distance from bars and restaurants and easy base to see the city for a few days. Take the stairs though, the lift is SLOOOOW

(Playing blogger catchup! Whoops) Washington DC is my first time in America, and is very... American. Flags, everywhere. And in history museums, it's not "the United States", it's "America" and it's not "America", it's "our Nation", which feels overly US-centric as a foreigner. By chance, I was flying in during sunset and the sky was fantastic. By …

My accommodation in DC was probably the worst hostel I've ever stayed in. I feel the reason I'm going to list for this statement will reveal quite a bit about my character.

It did have it's good points. It was clean, very clean. The kitchen was spacious (not that that ever really bothers me as I rarely use the kitchen for any more than a …

The first thing that struck me about Washington DC (from now on referred to as DC or Washington) was the wide streets. Most streets are three lanes wide both ways and the roads seem rather good quality. This was such a contrast to the roads of Boston. The roads there were a narrow older style with cobblestones (at least in the part of town I was in …

Today we left from the Albany-Rennselaer Train Station with a transfer at Penn Station in New York City. From there we went to a different kind of train, the Metro. This was a first-time experience for many of the girls. I must say they handled the traveling like champs! Here's what they had to say about their journey so far.

    Today was …
