We landed in Washington on a rainy Thursday afternoon and, after catching the bus and Metro to our hostel, arrived to find that someone had cancelled our reservation! Fortunately, there were still several beds free so we were not thrown out onto the streets, but the hostel staff seemed little concerned that we could have been left high and dry. I …
A little bit like home
Washington reminded me of Canberra! Flat skyline and lots of gardens and parks through out the city.
We both really enjoyed Washington although it wiped us both out. With all the museums and art ggalleries you could easily have stayed there for a week and still not seen everything. As we were only there for 4 days we had to created listof …
Expensive lesson and wise words.....
I don't where to start! It's not been that long since my last blog but I have a few things to report. That almost sound like I'm in a confessional! ha ha. nice to find a hostel with fixed wooden bunks not creaky metal frames, loved how the 10 bed dorms were sectioned into smaller parts so you at least got a bit more space and werent on top of eachother..... unfortunately the air con was VERY noisy and clunky and didnt do anything to cool the room down but it was very clean, bathrooms were fine and the communal areas were good too. Within walking distance from bars and restaurants and easy base to see the city for a few days. Take the stairs though, the lift is SLOOOOW
