Three Strikes You're Out!
The good news is, we didn't get attacked by raccoons in the night!
The even better news is that today we are meeting our friend from University,
Sarah Willie (Swillie) in Seattle. She was flying in from Boston. If you recall from
my Vancouver post, we stayed in her condo while she was on the east coast on holidays.
Meeting up in …
Sleepless in Seattle
After a long time on a bus, from Whistler to Vancouver, we arrived in Seattle. Coming into the city at night is pretty, with the space needle glowing above the skyline.
From the bus station it was a 5 minute walk to where we were staying, unfortunately we got lost and it turned into a 10 minute walk, a tantrum and a then a taxi ride to …
Seattle, Emerald City
I have just arrived in Seattle after a nice 5 hour train journey past Mount Vernon from Vancouver, and was happy to see the clouds get less and less the further south I went. The weather here is pretty mild in comparison :)
First discovery is the brilliant public transport system which is free (!) in the downtown part of the city, and is …
To Be Sleepless In Seattle or Not To Be...

A fairly happy customs officer scanned my fingers and told me to smile for the …

Good welcome, got upgraded to 4 bed dorm because there was a mix-up with the 6 bed, but for the same price. Friendly staff, lots of information available. Close to lots of food outlets, mainly as in Chinatown. Not been in the city yet, but a half-hour walk from the Greyhound station, although that's just 4 stops on the free bus. Free spaghetti on Friday, free pancakes on Sunday, good breakfast. WIll certainly stay again!
