My first taste of San Diego was a day trip with Andrea. She drove me down after we attended a baby shower that was in the same direction. We drove over to Coronado Island and stopped by the famous Hotel del Coronado for a peak. After having a quick walk by the beach we headed to Balboa park and walked passed the zoo. I met a cute little black puppy …
After arriving into San Diego International Airport http://www.san.org/ I made my way to downtown San Diego, which is where my hostel ( Hostelling International ) http://www.sandiegohostels.org/ was located. Convienently, the airport is only a quick 10 minute ride to downtown San Diego.

So we've pretty much fallen in love with San Diego and the fact we woke up to free breakfast this morning only verified this...fruit, bread and peanut butter all round!! I stayed for one week at Hostelling International San Diego and I couldn't fault anything. Not only was it modern, clean and spacious but also provided great kitchen and internet facilities, and cheap meals on certain days of the week. Plenty of tour options from the hostel, the staff were knowledgable and friendly, always up for a chat about the town or were you came from. A home away from home. A great place for getting to know other fellow travellers.
