I really liked the Hostel - fantastic location, friendly and helpful staff and nice Amenities. Wifi could be a little slow and I wasn't a huge fan of the breakfast but I'd definitely stay again!

In a great area, very close to the beach and third street promenade. Friendly and helpful staff, breakfast, towel hire and wifi included in the rate. Small but comfortable bunk beds. Your typical big hostel really.

It´s close to Santa Monica which takes like an hour to get anywhere else. The no alcohol policy makes it a bit harder to get to know people and that you have to pay $5 for a locker for your bag once you check out is stupid.

I started my second day in Santa Monica with a walk downtown through the Third Street Promenade (shopping mall) to the Superfood Cafe that I saw the night before. I figured their acai bowl would be a much nicer alternative to the veeerrry simple (and sugary) breakfast the hostel provided free of charge.

9 March 2016, 9pm: Wow, what a day it has been! I can’t remember any trip having a ‘Day One’ as long, full and enjoyable as today has been. I can’t believe I only arrived in LA this morning. I already even kinda feel acclimatised, at least to the city of Santa Monica! How strange is that?! But I think it means I like it here …

It was a bit of a shock to arrive into LA especially as my body clock didn't know where it was at. During the 9 hour flight (where my seat was upstairs in the plane, but unfortunately not in Business Class!) we crossed over the international date line so no wonder my body didn't know what time it was.

Today was home day :-( although it really didn't feel like today was the day we were leaving. We went to Hollywood seeing as its the done thing to do here and ticks a few boxes off the bucket list. We got the hostel hopper......a cheaper alternative to a taxi. Our driver was a bit mad. His name was Mark and he thought he was funny. Turns out …
