Clean, great location and nice layout

The place is situated 2 blocks back from the ferry terminal making it a great location. It is off a main road so not noisy, and there is an internet cafe next door, and an Oxxo (like a 7Eleven) a few doors down. HIghly recommended.

    dirty

This is the worst hostel I've ever seen. It is dirty (dorms, bathrooms wih full bins), no windows in the unique dorm, staff really unfriendly. There is a nice common area outside, on the roof, but if it's the rainy season which is pretty long in Mexico, there is NO common area inside...So we stayed at the reception, closing the door but they were always opening this door (it was cold) because...this is what the owner wants. They take advantage that they are the cheapest ones in terms of "hostel", but you could pay more and get a nice place.

... Derby won 4-1... The solemn chap that he is didn't want to get too excited to remained cool looking. We then splashed about in the pool then nonchalantly read our books in the blazing heat. Despite being very vigilant with applying factor 20 sun cream every hour I am still a slight shade of red so I am currently soaking in Aloe readying myself for our steak night! Then probably another early night. Party ...

We only do one week of classes through GVI, however Sian is going to continue for another four weeks, hoping to build up a level of proficiency by the time we leave Playa. Monday afternoon we started our Emergency First Response course, a compulsory part of volunteering with GVI even for those who have completed similar courses before (like Jim) ...

I passed on goodbyes to the four Aussie daycare centre members, having a heartfelt goodbye with the Translator, the trip's most interesting character.
