Clean, great location and nice layout

The place is situated 2 blocks back from the ferry terminal making it a great location. It is off a main road so not noisy, and there is an internet cafe next door, and an Oxxo (like a 7Eleven) a few doors down. HIghly recommended.

    dirty

This is the worst hostel I've ever seen. It is dirty (dorms, bathrooms wih full bins), no windows in the unique dorm, staff really unfriendly. There is a nice common area outside, on the roof, but if it's the rainy season which is pretty long in Mexico, there is NO common area inside...So we stayed at the reception, closing the door but they were always opening this door (it was cold) because...this is what the owner wants. They take advantage that they are the cheapest ones in terms of "hostel", but you could pay more and get a nice place.

We checked out of the hostel in Tulum Pueblo and headed to the collectivo point. We took a super cheap collectivo the 60km or so to Playa del Carmen. We zipped along and arrived in what felt like no time at all. Here, we wandered the 4 blocks to the port, bought a ticket for the next ferry heading to Cozumel, and waited a little while for it to …

Danny was the last one to not feel good, not from the waves and motion, but due to the desiel fumes we were smelling. (didn't help the situation for any of us). Lori was the only one not in trouble Stacie wanted to go back, as the was not doing well for her. Jody was ready to get off with her as well, By this point i was ...

... direction, took a turn and wrapped our way back to reception where we stole the bikes belonging to 409 and proceeded to get lost yet again. But oh what a giggle it was at the Mayakoba that night. The next morning Sue was stuck in bed with Charlotte while the boys and I dined on a fabulous breakfast of lobster omelets. My last afternoon of pool/beach time. I soaked it in like a recovering alcoholic drags on a cigarette like their life depends upon it. I am ...

... bridesmaids are pulled from the pool - all the time being videoed by various guests - Christie is howling frustration over by her parents while Cody wanders around on his own, like a man in the middle of a nightmare. Later that night as we watch the drunken guests fail to open glass doors without walking in to them we give the marriage three months. So it's no surprise on Wednesday morning to see Christie having breakfast with her disappointed-looking parents and Cody nowhere to ...

I am ending my Latin America Odyssey at the beach in Playa del Carmen. It's the rainy season but still well over 30deg. Playa del Carmen is a big tourist resort with a lively strip and no end of bars and restaurants with tourist trap prices to match. The beach is long and not too crowded and so far ...
