The place is situated 2 blocks back from the ferry terminal making it a great location. It is off a main road so not noisy, and there is an internet cafe next door, and an Oxxo (like a 7Eleven) a few doors down. HIghly recommended.

This is the worst hostel I've ever seen. It is dirty (dorms, bathrooms wih full bins), no windows in the unique dorm, staff really unfriendly. There is a nice common area outside, on the roof, but if it's the rainy season which is pretty long in Mexico, there is NO common area inside...So we stayed at the reception, closing the door but they were always opening this door (it was cold) because...this is what the owner wants. They take advantage that they are the cheapest ones in terms of "hostel", but you could pay more and get a nice place.

... bring a little bit of Mexico home with us. Would be lovely here in nicer weather.

Went for dinner at a Mexican restaurant with a six piece Mariachi band - they were awesome! We've eaten here twice now just for the band. How more Mexican can you get.

We witnessed a poor guy try a little hard and do the biggest belly whacker into the Cenote. Everyone saw it and when he put his head up the place erupting in cheers and claps. We then went to Chichen Itza where we had a guided tour of the ruins. I was a special day there as it was the 21st of march, the day of the day of ...

It is exam week at the University, or la escuela as the Mexicans call it, and so work has been pretty easy in comparison to the mad rush last week where everyone was trying to clock their English conversation hours. The conversations I did have, were mainly with my friends and so it didn't feel like work at all. Another conversation class one ...

... so that we could relax and enjoy ourselves without worrying about our bags, or check out and baby sit our bags. That evening the hostel decided to throw a bbq, but as we had already bought food and it wasn't until 9pm, we decided to cook ourselves and join in socially later. After another lovely home cooked spaghetti bolegnese, we spent another evening chatting away but had to leave a little early, as we were planning to get up early for the ruins ...
