... in their speed, temperature and density the two rivers don't mix. So you basically have 2 rivers running aide by side for something like 15km that stay seperate, one brown and one black- looks a bit like marble cake! When they eventually merge they form the Amazon River. From there we went to a different port, got into a VW van and drove for about an hour along a clay track that when it rained (and it did) turned into one long slide. We made it to our stop on ...

Foreign enterprises must pay here no import duties, what guarantees a certain income for the city and the region. Manaus is very expensive for some reason despite not ...

... scored as they had been diving left, right and centre and no-one thought it was a red card. It was a sad end for Buffon and probably Pirlo. We really enjoyed the Colombian game and hopefully they will be too good for Uruguay. We decided that we should do some more cultural things while we are in Manaus as they have put a lot of shows on so in the evening we went to the Opera house/Theatre to see 3 performances by local ...

19th June Woke up at 8, got on a bus and drove to the edge of the amazon river. Was absolutely ******* down with rain, had to wait two hours for the storm to pass before jumping on sketchy little boats to cross the massive river to the other side. Here we left society behind and ventured 40 minutes into the jungle by bus, then another hour deep into the jungle by boat. Arrived at a cool riverside camp that reminds me pretty much of a hippy ...
