Yep, am now in BA... After crossing the border i headed for the bus terminal on the Argentinean side with no idea of where i wanted to go afterwards - but i had Salta or Jujuy in mind. 5 minutes later (at about 5pm) i was sat in the 4pm bus to Buenos Aires, having got a good deal on the price and convinced myself that it would be better to do Argentina from south to north.
So, i`ve spent the last 26 hours on a bus, missing all of northern Argentina. The change is apparent as soon as yo...
Another bus ride another adventure. Colin, Michelle, Brian and I depart Puerto Maryn for yet another 20 hour bus ride. Damn this country is BIG! I´m making my way to Ushuaia which is all the way south of Argentina aka end of the world. To give an idea its 1000km from Antartica (about 600 miles). I decide to go north to Buenos Aires to go south. Its way easier to fly to Ushuaia then taking a bus. Our bus has no ventilation and the heat is on full blast which causes for a hot and muggy ride. We...
Buenos Aires, Capital Federal District, Argentina flutterby7011 The night bus from Mendoza was amazing, leather seats which turned into a proper bed, and a waiter who served 2 meals and drinks...Shaun was that excited he couldn't get to sleep for the whole 13hour journey!
Found a nice hostel called Florida Suites which was close to pretty much everything and spent the first day walking around the centre. when we got to the main square there were some old Falkland (they still call it Malvinas though) war veterans camped there in protest at something...
BUENOS AIRES – ARGENTINA – RAIN - 21.10.09
We bought a ticket for a taxi, loaded our gear into the Citroen Berlingo and literally set sail down the freeway at a million miles per hour. Michael Schumacher has nothing on this driver, I'm sure he was Michael’s driving instructor. This bloke could squeeze though a gap with only a filter-paper on each side, all very civilized, no horn blowing, no rage. This guy was good! His passengers were petrified! It was raining bucket...
Aerolinas Argentina gave me a great start to a year long trip with some dodgey food that made viewing Buenos Aires while horizontal rather difficult. Nevertheless we hit up San Telmo and the antiques market on Sunday which was writhing with the old and the new. Tango dancers, antiques, touristic souveneers all in a mass of people and aprehension for the wary traveller. This stop is definately worth seeing but I´m not sure it will be all that high on the shopping list for purchases. But for Ar...
Buenos Aires, Argentina kiriandjamesLoving the sunshine as I pass through chic Buenos Aires streets and well designed roads. Today was spent remembering how to be a city traveler. Reading maps, practicing a few key phrases, falling asleep in a park, drawing, journaling, walking in and out of restuarants..... and rekindling my love for Latin America. Buenos Aires is quite beautiful, charming and modern at the same time. I am excited to leave here tomorrow for a quite and tranquile border town. Adventure is now the name of the ga...

So, my last entry was just erased by the 15-minute limit that you are allowed to use in the hostel, so I will need to save my work this time around. Ahh, the tough lessons we learn.
I arrived in Buenos Aires safe and sound yesterday morning. American Airlines did not ask about a return or onwards ticket, which had left me worried before I left the States. The flight from Dallas to BsA was filled with turbulence, especially around the Yucatan Peninsula area, and it became so bad that th...
I woke up this morning tired as can be and still trying to adjust to the long travel day yesterday. At the hostel breakfast, I sat down with a guy named Stewart and his girlfriend, Leslie, both from Dublin, who are currently on a one year extended trip around the world. So far, they have been far and wide, but more specifically to: Ethiopia, Tanzania, Bahrain, Russia, Mongolia, the Far East, all of Southeast Asia and, after Argentina, they are planning on flying to St. Lucia for the holidays ...
