... together in a perfect small town. We wandered until hunger got the better of us and then ate outside overlooking the river. The meal was good but what was better was simply spending time together without the constant distractions of the hotel.

As befits our Rock and Roll lifestyle (lapsed) we were back at the Pension Amadaus before 9pm ready for sleep.

Today was another relaxing day. We spent the morning touring the Cesky Krumlov Castle Tower, Museum, and Gardens. The museum was nothing too spectacular, just various pieces from the Castle to show its history. The outside of the castle had a couple of bear "pits." The enclosures had a couple of European Brown Bears, which was a symbol of one of the local nobles. The tower was a bit high up! I (Bonnie) definitely ...

... of plywood and a flat pillow), we arose to see the town. We visited the Cesky Krumlov Castle which has a rather magnificent, colourful turret and a few fat pet bears living in the (now dry) moat. Unfortunately the interior of the castle was closed for the season, but we were able to walk inside the inner bailey to look down on views of the town below (which we started to affectionately call "The Krums").

... night brought high hopes, but low standards: the veggie restaurant on the banks of the Vltava River had an excellent menu, on paper, but not on the plate. However, there was significant upside, when we saw the comedy of a man trying to walk his kitten along the riverbank, using a dog's leash and harness.

... were indeed two bears in the pit. I later learnt that this is a tradition from the first owners of the castle. Before heading back through the peaceful streets and getting slightly lost due to the few street lights around I headed into a bar that was at the back of shall way which turned out to be either parts of the castles foundations or rocks of the hill the castle sits on.
