... Old City Center is a Unesco World Heritage Site, I presume because so much of it is hundreds of years old and well-preserved. Cesky Krumlov suffered little damage during WWII or the Russian occupation. It is like stepping into a time capsule, with narrow winding cobblestone streets, old stone buildings and interesting wooden doors. Auto traffic into the old center is regulated, which makes it predominately a pedestrian area, just as it was when it was constructed.

... We always prefer to take the country roads where possible as opposed to the main highways. We were not disappointed with the drive as you can see from the photos. We drove through quite a thick mist which was rather nice, being nice and cosy in the car. Every house had their huge stack of firewood ready for winter which reminded us of Jeremy's wood stacks. ... firmly but nicely we were in Czechoslovakia so the Czech way was with bread and their sausages were nicer and cheaper!! We didn't like the Czech way as much as the bread was very heavy so we just had the sausage. Russell had a hunk and I mean a hunk, of warm ham. We then set off for our waffle and chocolate.
