Ilus ilm, vähem tunnid, ja pidu aeg!

... band is called Zetod and they're quite famous within Estonia because they're unique (they sing in the Setu language, which is not like Estonian at all even though the Setu people live within the Estonian border), they're very good, and (I suspect) they're extremely marketable because they're young and different. It was a really cool show, although I was still pretty tired from the previous night's partying and I needed to get a lot of sleep. It was a really fun experience ...

Spring Break Part 2 - Tartu and Tallinn

... in the middle of the city. And you could look out over the bay and the Baltic sea. After our long climb down, we checked out the church interior and walked along the old city wall, then up to the Orthodox church and over to a few more churches as well. I love European churches, we just don't really have anything like them in the states, at least not anywhere near where I'm from. We walked through the Old Town of Tallinn ...

Back to routine

... ago and I'm just sitting in my room waiting to go out again. Our friend Jack (UK) is DJ'ing at a club tonight, so we're going to go support him and have some fun. Tomorrow night there's another group of DJ's playing music at a bar named Zavood, and then Sunday afternoon at the Vanemuise Theatre there's a Russian ballet that international students get a discount for. They certainly keep us busy here :) Well, I'll have some more exciting things to discuss in a few days, I'm sure.

Arrival

... myself if I ever left the country to begin with. One step outside, though, and that question was answered, because there's snow and ice everywhere, and the river keeps partially freezing on top. It's currently about 17 F here, and it doesn't really get warm even during the day. When spring rolls around, though, it shouldn't be too bad. Haven't figured out any travel plans yet, but there are people interested in going all sorts of places. I'm sure things will be in the works soon.

Stuffing the latest GN and Bible Study Course

... Jim came over at 10 am and we started the final assembly process. It's always so satisfying to see putting together all the pieces of this puzzle. Before we stuff the magazines we paste two return labels into each magazine with the Estonian return address. This is done on the stitch-in response cards. Into each magazine we also throw in a blow-in card offering the Bible Study Course. We also insert manually a stitch in response card into the ...

Lots of progress on the mailing

... in shishkabobs. Back we walk and now do the Russian Bible Study course lessons. We get it all done by 11 pm. It's all done. We load the entire mailing into our luggage ready for the PO on Friday morning. We have a great sense of accomplishment seeing our work into two suitcases. This one will need a taxi. Tomorrow we go the PO. I have a visit scheduled with a prisonere at 1:30 PM and some of the brethren are coming over for dinner. I really enjoy this!

Tartu to you too

Tartu day 22 With a slightly sore head and having finished the Count of MC the previous day I have little to do but try and write more of my journal on the bus from Parnu to Tartu. This turns out to be a frustrating experience. Despite it's small size traveling around the Baltic is not a quick or comfortable experience. Traveling less than 200km by bus even a direct express bus takes over three hours. The buses are mainly ...

Tartu - The Spirit of Estonia

... capital" so we were expecting something a bit different from Tallinn. First impressions were clouded somewhat by the fact that some git had put the hotel a mile away from the Station so it was more Rucksack lugging for us until we found it discretely hidden down a road straight out of Shameless-meets-the-wild-west. The hotel was pleasant and cheap but non-descript so ignoring the ...

The list of names is long. All the product of their work is in the flat-sized envelope that will be mailed out and will be impressed on the minds and hearts of those requesting it. I was so ...
