... seem pretty consistent with the French/American oak barrels, I guess this could be the way forward? The wines from here were so much better and more what I was expecting. We tried various wines including Finca La Linda Smart Blend which is available in Gaucho and some of their higher tiered wines. We also had an amazing late harvest Gewürtztraminer, which I bought a bottle of as I couldn't resist and being a sweet wine was only a 50cl which fits easier into my ...

After our very quiet day yesterday we were keen to be up early and get ready for our day at the vineyards. We skipped breakfast and walked to the other side of town, to the bus stop on Calle Rioja. In stark contrast to yesterday, the city was buzzing with people and a lot more of the shops were open. It didn't take long for the 173 bus to come and take us to Maipu.

... of days later.

I tried some wines though and was quite happy to have it along with some big pieces of fatty meat! YEAH! The sun is constant and strong here, which makes a stronger wine (sweeter grapes) so it goes well with fatty stuff. Most of the wines here are wines that are to be drunk young.

So yeah, a bit of sightseeing, good food and wine, some rest and next, let's go north!
