First step, catch a bus to Esmeraldas
There are 3 buses a day from Atacames to Quito, but a whole lot more from Esmeraldas
Esmeraldas is only 1 hour away, and buses leave every 10 mins,
The plan worked I was on a bus out of Atacames at 07:20.
It was rain and the bus actually waited for me to walk up the street.
Yesterday, we walked all day...destination was the Museo de Nacional, an incredible free museum that gave us all insight into the history of the area, of the pre-Incan empire, the Incan Empire, and the post Spanish Colonial era. The walk itself took nearly 2 hours one-way, with some stops, one of which was to climb on a massive, 2 story high, metal, globe-shaped sculpture that we had driven past in a taxi earlier in the week and that had caught our eyes. ...
