First leg to Prague We left Sydney on Wednesday afternoon on a 14 hour flight to Dubai. Our seats were in the last row on the upper deck of the Qantas A380 where the configuration is 2-4-2. Very nice to have two only seats. Good access to the galley & toilets but not on a thoroughfare so there weren't many people passing our seats. The idea was to try to stay awake on this leg because we were staying for 8 hours in the airport hotel in Dubai. I watched a lot of movies - ...

... I needed to have our key cards reprogrammed as Nancy and I couldn't get into our room. That was a quick fix. When I was downstairs taking care of that, a few of our fellow travellers stopped to ask me if we wanted to join them for an outing into town and for dinner. ... Old East Berlin, and find a few remnants of the wall, now covered in graffiti or murals, which was so prominent a division of the city at our last visit 23 years ago. John and I recall the constant ring of hammer on chisel as souvenir hunters all over Europe slowly tore the wall down. Now small morsels are for sale in plastic containers, or as earrings or pendants...but are they genuine? We find Checkpoint Charlie, and visit a memorial to the wall. We also walk ...

... balcony into the church which was really spectacular and the first place we were allowed entry into this level. Was well worth a visit and the best Cathedral in Prague. Thank you for the recommendation Lindi!

We were tired and starving so we stopped for lunch. We read the menu outside and headed in but ended up at a bit more fancy place than we thought and was bit more pricey. But in saying that the mushroom soup served in bread and the beef goulash ...
