Back to budget
We arrived in Kuala Lumpur last night and experienced a bit of a shock to the system. After we had the best room of our travels in Langkawi, we moved straight into the worst room we had so far - no windows, dirt and the smell of rat poison (better that though than the crawleys). The days of luxury are officially over.
At least the hostel is …
Malaysia's capital
Three full days is plenty of time to visit Kuala Lumpur. Kuala Lumpur is the capital city of Malaysia with a population of 1.5 million people. The city is well connected with metro lines and Monorail where you can observe the whole city from above (similar to the sky train in Bangkok). Cool! This means no more taxis or tuc-tucs!! There are actually …
Overcrowded, Poluted...but then Petronas Towers !
Left the hostel in KK a little later than we should have, giving us only an hour to get to the airport to check in. Our first bus to the mini bus station seemed tediously slow - 15 minutes later and only 2k down the road we arrive. We then bolt to our next bus, which looked more like an ice cream van than a bus. We got on, to find that we had an …
Touch down
Landed in Malaysia after the 8 hour flight with 2 new friends. Was lucky enough to be seated next to 2 solo female travellers, one from KL (Racheal) and one from Germany (Irena). Over the 8 hours I got the chance to pick Racheals brains about the things to do and see in Malaysia. Caught the skybus with Irena to KL Sentral, ate some Burger King and …

Relatively cheap but not the best value. Unfortunately our room was dirty and very smelly. Bathroom and shower facilities were dirty, too. You have to pay for toilet paper.
Good thing is that there is a kitchen available and free internet access.

Rooms are clean, with aircon. There are 6 computers you can use for free with the internet and DVD-RW drives. Showers are clean and have a good supply of hot water. Free breakfast is basic, you get toast, jam, butter, honey, but considering the price of the rooms its more than enough!
The hostel is well located very close to Chow Kit monorail station which takes you all over the city.
I recommend staying here.

Very well organised place. We've tried private room with shared bathroom, private room with ensuite and dorms and it was all very nice.
The kitchen is goos plus to cook your own. Lots of computers and wifi works perfectly. A massive collection of DVDs in case you are bored. Staff very nice. Only problems: no fridge and one bed in the dorm was squicky and I had it!! Enjoy your stay.
