Day 22 - Vatican
We were up by 9am today and started with breakfast in the Alessandro downtown hostel as it was only 3 euros, disappointingly no fry-up but can't complain at 3 euros. After a quick breakfast we headed out early after pre-booking a tour for later on in the day around the Vatican. We started walking towards the Vatican on foot (as it was around an …
Day 21 - When in Rome...
We arrived in Rome at just gone 9am, where we then walked a short walk to our hostel: Alessandro Downtown. We were too early to check in but left our bags there, before setting off to see the Colosseum. On our way down we stopped for breakfast and had our first pizza in Rome (sure we'll have one or two more). When we arrived and first saw the …

Collosseo

Oh, and by the way, I wasn't aware they made garbage trucks so small, they look like Prius's! Today my day started very early, I woke at 0500, to a crisp sound outside the hostel window. Was it raining? I got up to look …

My new friend, David B from Winnipeg quickly made for the sights everyone knows about, the colosseum, Arch of Constantine, and Roman Forum, just to name a few. The temperature was hot, but the monuments were not, they were pretty cool to see. Rome doesn't top my list of great destinations …

Good value-for-money. Only down point is that the heater did not work properly. Apart from that, everything is good.

Good environment, good staff, good location. Only thing I didn't like was the wifi set up, strange to have to get a new code every three hours.
