While things like this do not necessarily make the city kid friendly, they are a part of what makes the city so great. While Amsterdam has all culture of other major European cities with its excellent museums, the city of Amsterdam have a great sense of humor and a way of celebrating things that a just a bit quirky.

... Instead there was a temporary exhibit about the Silk Road trading routes and a permanent display about the history of the building. The entrance fee was 15 euros each, and we were ******. On our walk home we stumbled across the Purse and Handbag Museum, and went in on impulse. There were handbags from the Middle Ages to the present on four floors. ... to Amsterdam. Now this bus normally costs 4 euros but for some reason the driver didn't take my money and I ended up with a free ride from the airport to my hotel. We are staying at the Best Western Leidse Square. This is actually a very nice hotel with only one real drawback.. No AC! There is an oscillating fan.

Well, this journey was an awesome one to say the least. As Lisa and I headed out on our road trip amsterdam was the first place on our checklist. We got to this cool little camping spot... it's kind of odd what qualifies for camping here vs in the states. I am used to trees, forest, no working toilets, hiking, etc really roughing it status. In this place we parked our little van on a cement patio, pulled out our table and and chairs and lit a candle. we were ...
