This hostel was one of the friendliest we have stayed in a long time. The staff are all extremely helpful, friendly and GREAT with our three children. Though the bar became loud in the evenings, the atmosphere was fun and Daniella went out and bought ear plugs for us to use. The breakfast was good, with cakes and eggs, juice and excellent coffee.

After our eventful minibus ride over the border, we arrived on the Argentine side of the falls in a town called Puerto Iguaz˙. We'd chosen to stay in a sister hostel of the one that we approved of on the Brazilian side (called Mini Bambu). The accommodation itself was fine but Matt in particular was struggling with illness by this stage and spent …

We considered July 3rd, Ari's 14th birthday, to be the delicious filling inside of a sweet Iguaz˙ Falls Sandwich, with the falls being the bread. While the 2nd of August was spent marveling at the falls from the vantage point of the Brazilian side of the Iguaz˙ River, the 4th was filled with jungle hikes, right up to the cascades, …

After almost exactly a month in Brazil it was time to say goodbye. I took another overnight bus ride from Florianopolis to Iguazu Falls which was supposed to be about 15 hours but in true Brazilian bus fashion ended up being about 18 hours. For those who have not heard of Iguazu Falls it is a collection of massive water falls on the boarder of …

    Bolivia to Brazil!!

... and had more of a European feel than Bolivian. The next day we visited the zoo which had everything, except enough room for the big cats. Not cool seeing jagaurs and pumas moping around in tiny concrete cages. The other animals were all having fun though, although the monkeys had either escaped or were fast asleep. It was a Saturday so the place was packed full of family's enjoying the cheap B$10 entry fee ($1.50, slightly cheaper than Adelaide's zoo!). One kid was also ...
