Need a basic, safe, cheap, clean, centrally located place in Piura? This is it. Not too much to see in the hot hot town but this place fit the bill for a sleepover between buses. Really nice sisters run the place and it is close to everything.

Zoooming through northern Peru
"Buy a tour! Hat!! Lunch!!!" "No, gracias. No, graci-" This is getting old. Ah Peru. A beautiful country with a long and exciting history. After stumbling round the streets for a hour we managed to book into the San Hose …

Los Cangrejos beach is down a sandy path to one side of the seaside town of Paita and we spent a few perfect hours picnicking, swimming and playing football on the sand. The place was completely deserted. Even the houses lining the beach front were uninhabited. Unsurpridingly really ...
Piura, a Second Chance and Cruz del Swell
... market/highway street chaos of the day before seemed, at least on the surface, gentle and simple and just .....nice.
I definitely had my guard up as I started to walk back the route of the taxi, waiting for my spidey senses to send out some alarms, but nope, didn't happen. Motos stopped, taxis stopped, everyone seemed baffled about why I was walking at high noon in the scorching heat when I could ...
