One of our day´s we drove to Gibraltar, which is only about 1.5 hours drive away, but actually a part of England(?). I absolutely loved it, not because of the English-ness (Marks and Sparks, etc) but because of the MONKEYS!! I LOVE MONKEYS!! We drove up the side of the "rock" and visited a cave (pretty cool, but nowhere near as good as the ones down south ...

... I saw a bullfight my first week here and it really wasn't my cup of tea, but it was interesting to be where all the action takes place. I then proceeded to go exploring on my own, which I actually do quite frequently. I love people but I find I really enjoy some things better when I make my own experience not surrounded by what everyone else wants to do. I started by going down into the Ronda Gorge, which literally looks like a city built on a cliff. It is just ...
Ronda, Andalusia, Spain and Canary Islands aperisee... order to get an early start in the morning.
Shae question for daddy: She's riding on his shoulders..."Daddy does everyone have hair in their ears? or just you? It's white hair"
Another one, Daddy is trying to get out of the parking garage in Ronda. It's very steep. He stalled the car 5 times and someone was behind him.. I'm laughing hard and Shae is laughing. She says, "Daddy you're a knucklehead." I really don't know where she gets that...;)
We got up and headed out to the tourist office in Montejaque. We didn't have a plan for the day but we thought we might head down south to Gibraltor. Mike spoke with the tourism guide and he said "don't waste your time. It's just a rock". He suggested we head inland a bit and hit up a town (one of the white hillside villages) called Grazalema and then head over to local lake in another hillside village called Zahara ...
Grazalema, Andalusia, Spain and Canary Islands stacicheckWoke up in my lovely little room right in the middle of the old town of Arcos de la Frontera and climbed up to the rooftop terrace. This must be the only house up here where you can see in all 4 directions. It looked quite bright in the east and cloudy from the southwest, so I decided to go east. Ronda would be a good destination in that direction, a town where I was as a little innocent 16-year-old, on almost my first solo trip without ...
Ronda, Spain sabaidii... to speak spanish, consisting of mostly Americans and Germans. We meet talk but we have to get to the bull fight, since we bought tickets at different times we are all split up in three different section, I'm on my on, which is fine. Ronda, Spain doug.creighton... green fields, wild horses grazing, birds flying BELOW you ... just amazing! The bridge itself is quite a spectacle to see, and apparently took about 30 years to build. I spent the day walking above and below the gorge, hiking into caves and caverns, along waterfalls, and just taking in the scenary. Really, I could´ve easily stayed for days just absorbing it, but knowing that I had ...
Ronda, Spain trg7... churches, and plazas in additional to the scenery. The next day Kelly and I took off to hike through the valley. Our destination was a small church on the other side of the valley that was built into the side of the cliff. We didn´t exactly know where we were going, but we asked a few farmers and followed some dirt bikers and finally made our way there. The valley was lush and green and dotted with a few solitary white farm houses. The ...
