    ... yet more views. Walking making you breathless but very worthwhile. After the lunch stop we headed back to Arequipa once again through the high passes and beautiful vistas. The traffic mad as we got to the city and were dropped back at out hotel. Went into town early for a meal. Excellent food at the Capriccio. The Pasta with tomato so good. An early night for yet another early start ...

    ... again I hadn't been counting on -7 degree weather.

    The sandals and t-shirt did prove the right attire for the rest of the day though. It was sunny and clear, and perfect for spotting condors. To be on the safe side though, I did buy a pair of socks and a knitted sweater at the market at one of the stops along the way. Who knew what the way back would be like? So I ended up wearing those socks in my sandals like a good tourist ...

    We just arrived back from an amazing trip to Colca Canyon, one of the deepest canyons in the world (4,160 m). Early in the morning we managed to see condors flying over the canyon, these birds are amazing! First day we hiked down the whole way from the top to the river at the bottom, where we stayed in nice small huts. Second day we hiked along the canyon side to another small village, where we could visit thermal pools and stay the second night, before heading back to ...
