I'd like to stress the fact that we were being stupid to be out like that at that hour and it was our own faults we were robbed. The city isn't dangerous during the day, but we knew it was dangerous at night and still chose to go out to a park talking loudly in English. Stupid. ... a few hours spent on their plastic chairs, the most horrific and frustrating conversation with a hideous Gringo scoffing chicken, we headed into a bar, danced the night away with some lovely Caleņos and freestyled on the accordion.

The next day we went to the park. Every person who walked past us stopped to shake our hands; first we were joined by Brian, supposedly a forensic scientist, who had been sleeping on the bench opposite us and ...

... it kind of made me dizzy! We arrived back at the hostel at 4am for a quick game of Uno (which I had naturally introduced earlier in the day) to sign off the night in style!

The following day I helped out my Salsa teacher Linda – who is an English teacher in Cali. After a yummy breakfast and coffee to remove any fatigue (Thanks Linda) and another quick Salsa lesson from Linda’s Grandma we went off to see her English class! It is a free program for them to ...
