This morning a group of us headed out to explore Popayan. The city lives up to its name as the White City as most of the buildings in the old part of the city a white washed. We wandered into a few churches and then up a hill to a lookout. We were careful where we went as certain areas and places we were told were very unsafe. Because of this, we did not go up the hill to the other lookout. The one we did walk up though, only took us a ...

Not much to write about to be honest. I've been on crutches the past few days and haven't been able to do much of anything. I have played a lot of music and got a little lesson in some South American rhythms from a few musicians down here which was cool. Definitely had some good jams as well. I haven't been able to work though, which is a huge bummer. Part of the point of coming back to Cali was to save money and that ...

After our beers we headed to a market up the road to look into hammocks, and the owner of the hostel had told us about the ...

... internet’s probably too **** to upload it :( Anyway, I then reached the small village of San Cipriano, more Caribbean and different to anywhere else in Colombia, where there was some rivers you could go tubing in, cool waterfalls and some trails you could spend days exploring –unfortunately I only had about 5 hours but got to see some of the highlights, and most of the experience was the travel getting there more so than the stuff itself – after all ...

    The City of Cali

Cali was a much grittier city then any of the others we had been to in Colombia, probably the kind of city you would actually expect in Colombia, where you don't really feel that safe.

I had a very different picture in my mind of what Cali would be like, but then I wasn't really surprised that it was so different from the other 3 areas of Colombia that we had visited. Cartegena was very ...
