... more chilled out placed called “Mythology,” with a little less of a gringo vibe.
- Most importantly of all, somewhere in these last 11 or so days it’s become abundantly clear that – of all the things I’ve spent time doing here – what is most exhilarating is learning and practicing my Spanish, and spending time with the local Cusqueños. On the recommendation of a guy I chatted up at a local travel agency, I enrolled in Spanish classes ...
... including the grandpa who was 105 years old!
The rest of the night was spent trying to occupy ourselves from 6:30 onwards as there was no electricity in our separate sleeping house. The beds were comfortable and their were more than enough blankets but we still wore our Peruvian hats to bed and trousers.
Breakfast was 1.5 pancakes wit jam and tea which was slightly small for us and we were glad to have bought a few snacks for the boat.

... on lone gringos. He then cuts around their waist and removes all their fat (sounds great the girls cheer) before allowing them to slowly perish over four days (not so good). Clearly this is quite an uninspiring and unimaginative ghost story which us boys paid little attention to, but after the ladies heard one twit-twoo from an owl everyone was accompanied everywhere for the rest of the night. Surprisingly we awoke fat-intact although freezing...
Cuzco, Cusco, Peru al-lucy-lost... won, but disappointingly didn´t give us much shade from the midday sun.
So back down it was, to suncream and internet. The pub is showing rugby highlights at 5 o´clock so I´m going to have to cut this entry short.

He discovered Machu Picchu in 1911 and it was on the tourist map only 10 years later after excavation. It was the only village not conquered by the Spaniards due to its strategic position. However, the inhabitants emptied out to help their fellow Incas fight and the city was abandoned in the early 1500s. Yet another amazing discovery in Machu ...
Cuzco, Peru, Cusco, Peru ferrisbueller... to Salineras de Maras. It is an amazing natural salt area. It was so neat words can’t describe. Then we were headed back to Cuzco - where we stopped at the center for the Festival of the Virgin Natividad. There were amazing dancers in many colorful costumes. There was music and a ton of people. IT was great to see. We came back and ate. Then we had English class again tonight. It went better tonight and now I am exhausted. I need sleep . A bunch of it.
... in the morning. There are plenty of taxis waiting in the main square to take you to the train station or the airport. A night stay should only cost about $8. Stay in hospedajes. They are almost always cheaper than hostels. Avoid the menu guys. The places that don't have menu guys seem have better food.
We went horseback riding. They picked us up in a truck and took us ...
... site, being located 8km northeast of Cusco, was one favorite place of the Incas which was used as a resting area having an extraordinary water system carved in the rocks. The views of the surrounding areas were absolutely breathtaking. Locals were on site selling lovely sweaters made out of llama's wool. One was purchased making the Senora quite happy.
After having visited and enjoyed ...
