    ... back to hostel and chilled in communal area msging tom and booking hostel for tomorrow night as not wanting to stay here whole time in puerto varas. As much as wanted to go to chiloe decided not to as be rushing too much before boat. Went to bed but people asleep so didn't end up showering. Woke up in night thinking had bed bugs as had random bites, almost like stings from prickly bushes on my right wrist and hand and under arm and left leg so took me ages to get to sleep after ...

    ... wooden souvenir and they were thoroughly checked!
    It was sad to see miles of dead forest along the route, we will have to research why this has happened .we don't think ..it was fire damage.
    Once over the Andies, well what a difference...lots of Green.....I was supprised to see so much gunnera and bamboo and a tree with white blossom which I think they call lily of the valley tree. We passed many farms with cattle ...

    ... the time I woke up, Lee had been my constant companion for a month, and his departure came too soon and too sudden for both of us. There are reasons why you should go travelling with someone and reasons why you should go travelling alone - I'll get into these in a later post - but I honestly don't think I could have done the last month without him. He'll be missed.
