Road construction also slowed us down a bit so it was dark by the time we got to our destination. ... whole part of our trip (Puerto Varas, Chiloe, soon to be followed by Chaiten and Futaleufu) was not a part of our original itinerary, however when we realised that we could squeeze them in we jumped at the chance - even though we realised that we would be forced to move quite quickly and would not be able to spend the time relaxing and exploring them as we would be able to had we had more time.
