    ... car rental and the lady there told us she knows she made some phonecalls. Half an hour later a guy appeared with a car. He explaind us the car - important things like how to switch on the radio, the light and the interruptor...all those things you would never find out how to do it without instructions as cars are very compicated machines....;) the only thing he did not tell us is that in Chile ...

    ... our winter wear again!

    We were met by our guide, Sergio, a Cuban Chilean. We got on very well with Sergio and he was full of fact and fiction in unequal measure. He made it our challenge to pick out the fact from fiction, which made his commentaries rather interesting!

    ... Varas. But there were no Argentinian pesos in town, we walked round all the cambios and it was the same story in every one so we bought some US dollars instead. We should be able to change them in Argentina at the blue rate, the unofficial rate which gives you about 50% more for your money than the official bank rate.
