Residencial Bolonia, Canal 2 una cuadra al sur media cuadra oeste. Managua, Nicaragua
Journey. What a freaking journey. Not only is it hard to get to the Corn Islands, but its hard to get back from them too. We missed the early express boat that left at 11am because the port lady told us it had engine problems. This left us with only one option. Good old Captain D again, our black and white hunk of metal which had been unloading its cargo of ten thousand logs all day. Men were supping beer, sweating and heaving ...

For some reason they gave me back my little bag complete with my wallet and everything that was in there besides the memory stick, money and bank card. The woman even "kindly" zipped it up and put it in my lap. I started feeling really claustrophobic and overheated and gasped that I was hot. The woman lifted my hat up slightly so my nose and mouth were exposed and told the driver to turn on the air conditioning.
All this ...
... all forms to fill in, looking for name, age, profession, where we were staying in Managua (some dodgy hostel please), how long we were staying for etc etc. He then collected those forms along with our passports and a couple of dollars each. We got to the border and everyone had to get on and sign a kind of register, completely pointless. Again we were accosted by locals trying to sell their wares and also by beggars. It ...

Unsure now if we will stay the planned two to three nights for a break, we may move on tomorrow.
This town is definitely dirtier, the lake smells like a sewer which is hardly surprising as all the street run offs , runs into a stream running down to the lake.
Stopped at the Hospedeja Esfinge, ok but bvasic.
... are respected.” In this moment I understood I was being taught a lesson that appearances are not all what they seem and just as many figures in our society and around the world have tried to teach us. This thinking or the thinking of the culture of how to be respectful is something not taught or learned but passed down from generation to generation, an enlarged thought of kindness and reverence.
As the journey through the jungle neared an end I looked around ...
... so we heading there. Its quite and amusing night from the waiter who is very scarely and can´t understand a word we say even though we asking for a small beer. to the cruise ship style caberet and traditional dancing. Becca has set her heart on a hamac so we start to ask around for those. Off to bed as tommorrow we are up earlyish to go up volcano masaya, Its probably another steaming whole but we need to do some excersise to get the blood ...
Masaya, Nicaragua sainty1... countries is famous for its coffee production. The problem is that most of the good stuff gets exported and it can be tough to find a decent cup of coffee, believe it or not the majority of places serve instant coffee. Another local product that Nicaragua is famous for is its Rum, Flor De Caña. This however is definitely kept close to heart and can be bought very cheaply within the borders of the country. Apparently it is pretty ...
Granada, Nicaragua doscompletos... It was good. We walked back to our gate and played Uno to pass the time. We also watched funny videos on our youth director's laptop.
We finally took off at midnight. Ft. Lauderdale at night looks like a blanket of gold and silver garland.
Before we got to Managua, Nicaragua, there were scattered thunder storms. We could see patches of clouds and lightning. It was quite a show. We set our ...
