Cusco is a very charming city. It is set in a valley and surrounded on all sides by mountains. From the main plaza (La Plaza de Armas), you can see a mountain/hill in every direction. At 11,800 ft., it is extremely high in elevation definitely requires that one takes the proper precautions to acclimatize.
