... office to post my cards, but of course it was closed because it was sunday.
We had dinner in a really cool restaurant in Cusco, called "El gato con botas" and the whole interior was made by local orphans, the restaurant looked like a kindergarden, very unusual and cool! and the food was really good and cheap. Anyone traveling to Cusco is highly recomended to eat there.

Cuzco, Peru avi_einat... 8217;ve done just that, and I find now find myself far more relaxed and full of excitement for what’s to come.
Some things to know about Cusco and my time here:
- Despite its romantic, colonial charm, Cusco is indisputably a tourist mecca – “the gringo capital of South America” – and for obvious reason, with the Inca Trail, Machu Picchu, and impressive Inca Ruins as close as a mile away. 80% of the city’s income comes from ...

After visiting this other Uros island we rowed to with more reeds we saw some of the lakes fish in the center where they had caught them and they were swimming round in nets. Then we went to our last island that day Amantani which was a land filled island with the highest mountain point in the lake to climb. This took 3 hours to get to from the Uros islands across the lake and we stayed the night here with a local family ...
... a collectivo and meet our fellow explorers - Myles and Alynn, honeymooners from canada (who were by no means as old and geeky as their names suggest). We drive to our departure, along a road which happens to be quite a competitor for "the most dangerous road in the world" in Bolivia which may come later in the blog! Anyway Phil and myself get somewhat nervous from watching our driver, who look like a cartel boss with smart shirt ...
Cuzco, Cusco, Peru al-lucy-lost... poor town. After a refreshing dip in the natural hot springs, some guys and I decided to change, which was made more difficult by the facility and entire town losing power. No one seemed too surprised by it so we took out our flashlights and carried on with our business in the dark. Later that night we indulged in more once cold, now luke-warm beer. Some fellow trekkers may tell a story of me walking around a village festival that night with my pants ...
Cuzco, Peru, Cusco, Peru ferrisbueller...

Today was both good and bad in the same day. This morning we worked in the greenhouse. I continued on the walking path while Estela and some boys worked on the garden. When Rocio came down the only thing she said is let me do it or can I help which ended up me watching her do what I was doing and then criticizing what I did. Then no English was spoken. I was upset. I was here to volunteer not to watch. We ...
... which is good training for my Inca Trail. From a high vantage pt. Cusco looks a little like Dubrovinik with all its red terracotta style roofs. Then we got a bit of lunch before watching the 2nd half of Eng v Croatia, before I went for a bit of a wander round the rest of the city.
We´re meeting up for one last dinner tonight cos the Danes are off on a white water rafting trip, and then doing a Jungle trek as an alternative to ...
... br>We began our tour with a visit to the impressive Colonial Cathedral in Cusco in which we followed Ali inside the church. A wealth of statues, paintings, crucifixes, etc.. were all over the place. Fresh flowers, brought daily by the locals, were placed in beautiful vases near the paintings of the Saints. The beauty and richness of everything seen was quite incredible.
This was ...
