      ... of water. The volcano climb on Thursday was hard, it was straight up in rented boots that were ridiculously heavy and large. I had hardly any control over my feet but I trudged on. I made it to the snow on top but started to feel sick. I regrettably decided to stop here. The guide told me it would be really difficult and another 3 hours so it would be better to stop.       Up at 6 to get ready for the volcano trek today, but it was so
      worth it. What an amazing day!

      We all crammed in to a minibus, me on Maddie’s lap as there
      wasn’t enough seats, and got taken to the shop to collect our kit – we had to
      carry one of their bags with crampons, and ice axe, salapettes and a jacket so
      we wouldn’t ruin ours on the way back down, gaiters, etc etc, it weighed a ton!

      ... change! Instead, we decide to take advantage of the numerous hot springs that the local area has to offer (and there are many). The one we head to is the most distant – and indeed, most expensive – but is also considered to be the best.       ... the previous two days. We really were very lucky rocking up and going the next day!

      We set off and the tour guides drove us to the base camp of the volcano. Our group consisted of myself and Kirsty, Gavin and his friend and then about 10 Israelis. Upon arrival we were given the choice of taking the chair lift to skip the first section as it gave you a better chance to be at the summit for the 13:00 deadline that the park enforces.
