    ... were struggling by the time we were half way up the volcano and they were told to turn back with one of the guides.

    ... in the torrential rains to grab some food as well as any luggage we needed from underneath the bus that remained parked on the town's main drag. He then drove us, once again, back up from the village, to the cabaņa and assured us he would see us the next morning at 8:30 am to drive us to Temuco, along the four hour rough Interlago road, if it reopened.

    ... ve all done it and I haven't. Fortunately I was reassured by an Irish guy who said that when he was there a few days ago it was never that cold.

    ... properly and not drowned in cheese - it was a pleasant surprise! The next day I got up early again with a packed lunch and headed to lago Carbugua on the bus, as it was still early it was very quiet and I found a small beach which was empty and stayed that way, when I eventually headed around the next rocky outcrop in search of shade I found the main beach crowded with families so I'd obviously been lucky with my choice of beach.
