... and we were able to walk without putting the crampons on. The pace the guides set was perhaps a little slower than some of the other company's groups but David thought it was a good, safe pace. Looking at the other groups, Patagonia Experience seemed to be one of the few who provided quality equipment - some of the others were without helmets, some without gators, others using boots that didn't look suitable for the snow.

... With the change in the weather, our luck in Chile also started to change. So we set our sites on the capital, where a few friendly faces awaited us. But I was sad to leave Pucon behind. It's one of those rare places you find when you're travelling, where you think you could genuinely live forever. But the clock ticks on, and we have a plane a catch soon. ... doing so, we decided that instead of heading across the border back to Argentina tomorrow, we would head further south in Chile (now that we were loving it so!) to see Puerto Varas and the intriguing island of Chiloe - both of which were a lot closer and easier to get to than we had ever expected! We are now super excited as we had never expected to be able to get here! We will re-enter Argentina a week or so later than our original plan.
