Another volcano
Pucon We had been tempted to simply skip Pucón. It is Chile's answer to Bariloche, and we thought we could do without that (even though I liked Bariloche). The main drawcard is the puffing Volcán Villarica, and a bunch of outdoor activities. But we felt that the volcano was unlikely to be as spectacular as Pacaya (Guatemala), and we had done quite …
Lake us up before we go go!
... two days, but it never got any less scary.
It was then time for the big climb up Villarica, and we signed up for a tour with around 30 other mildly concerned tourists. Our previous volcano climbs, at Tongariro in NZ and Tunupa in Bolivia, stood us in good stead. Le 11/05, on se leve et encore une fois stop direction Pucon pour aller camper devant les termas Los Pozones, car on veut les visiter de nuit et sauf avec une agence pas de transport retour. Les Termas sont ...
After a long journey
... and smoking, its what I had hoped for as I did think I wasnt going to see it at all.
Mooched around a bit, had an empanada....meat pasty with a bit of egg and an olive inside hard pastry, and walked down to the lake at the bottom of the street.
There is so much to do here..its a bit like Queenstown in N.Z., zip-lining, climbing the volcano, kayaking, white water rafting, hiking etc, but for now, Im gonna chill on my balcony in the sun. xx
