    ... city which is the city the Sonny Bono (of Sonny and Cher fame for those over 40) was mayor of. It was a bit fashionable in the restaurants, a bit arty in the shops and a bit trashy in the bars but it was interesting to walk through at dusk when we were looking for dinner. They have stars in their pavements for its famous residents.

    Back at the Inn in time for afternoon tea and caught up with an American couple (Denise and Rodger) from Michigan who were also guests at the Inn so we trundled out to a seafood restaurant for dinner. Much discussion was had around "packing heat" which is a novel concept to us but we assume that the vast majority of Americans do it. Not sure how they hide an assault rifle in a handbag but I am sure there is a way.

    ... cloud to clear.

    Then we went to Mt Soledad which was another top rated site to visit while in the La Jolla area. Unfortunately because it was still late morning the cloud was still handing around so we could not see much. It was a bit eery with the clouds floating past us and the monument at the top of the mount but it was a beautiful monument dedicated to the fallen troops from the US.

    ... Avalon, a pretty sweet club. The performances were amazing. The one way better off course then the other. Lots of hiphop and commercial and almost no contemporary unfortunately. I had a great night tho and it was super busy. In between performances people were actually jamming, dancing and holding battles which was really entertaining. I recognised a few familiar faces from the american 'so you think you can dance' which was pretty cool. I said hello to Lody who ...
