It was late afternoon by this stage and we were really stuffed by this and weren't interested in any more walking around so headed back to the hotel. It was around 5pm (26th Aug) the same day we flew out. I crashed on the bed the minute we got back. Josh and jack followed very soon after, then ...

The church had given us 3 buses so that we could go out to where we needed to go. We all got loaded on the buses and off we went. The three buses split up and all went different ways. I was told we were heading the the retirement village close by.

Feeling more comfortable with the traffic in LA (when in Rome attitude has me driving like a New York cabbie), we set Gertrude for Santa Monica and a cruise along the Pacific Coast Highway to Malibu, not a long drive but quite scenic.
We were in and out of Santa Monica without even noticing. It's funny how I imagined Santa Monica would look, probably based purely on some obscure input from my childhood and a song by Savage Garden... It's just a little ...
