We kregen direct een upgrade naar een privé-appartement voor 4 man. Eigen keuken, eigen badkamer en eigen woonkamer. Niks te klagen dus!

The guys who work there make the place, its everything you could want and has not even a hint of city life about it. Everywhere is chilled, easy and at night, a party. It's across from a bar which gives endless discounts and freebies out every night and was the best place I have stayed thus far. PROPS HOLIDAY VILLAGE!

My short 2 hr flight to the Gold Coast was uneventful and after landing I headed for baggage claim at which point I suddenly realised I actually had no idea how to get to my hostel. I realised there was free wifi in the airport while waiting for my bag so a quick look on google maps told me I was about 14 miles from Surfers Paradise. I had learned …

      Day 47

A travel blog entry by becky_whitmore on Oct 06, 2014

As I'm heading in to town I see the girls from last night and we go for breakfast together. Then I have a wander around the shops and spend some time sunbathing on the beach which is nice. Then I set off on the walk to Australia's most easterly point and to the lighthouse, knackering in the heat but a nice walk. Back in town I go for a cheeky glass …

      Day 46

A travel blog entry by becky_whitmore on Oct 05, 2014

Last minute decision for a day trip to Nimbin, the weed-smoking hippy town of the east coast. I'm not impressed and am ready to go back after an hour. Its a very small place, not much to see and the market isn't on as I'd hoped. I thought it would be more interesting and "far out dude" but no, just a lot of old people. The driver guaranteed us that …

      Day 45

A travel blog entry by becky_whitmore on Oct 04, 2014

Its my last day at surf camp. No lesson this morning so we all head to the local town for a hungover breakfast which is delicious. We have a wander around the town and then get the bus back. It's too rough to surf this afternoon so we nap/watch films instead. And then its back on the bus to Byron Bay. I get to my hostel around 9pm and head straight …
