Woke to alarm at 8.30. Went back to sleep till after 9. Toast for breakfast. Then onto the train and off to Harrods.

What an amazing place. I only looked at some handbags, perfume and food then went off exploring. Marie and Erika stayed hours. They loved the guys in suits, perfume, the range of stuff, 7 pound ($15), for an ice-cream they had lunch at a cafe across the road then back to Harrods stayed ...

... that train is fast! Pretty damn comfortable too, and with a nice meal thrown in. Sooooo much nicer than the overnighter from Venice to Paris.
It's a train I would consider using again :)
On the trip we got a very quick look at the French countryside between Paris & Calais. Lots of very flat plainland, fields of agriculture and cows, and a few wind farms as well.

... pieces there was an excellent Italian Fashion exhibition from 1945 -2014. I lost an hour here while Andrew found the furniture and metalwork galleries. The jewelry was spectacular as well. Started @ 300 BC and the pieces were just exquisite. Interestingly many of the pieces in this part of the museum had been acquired by the crown in lieu of inheritance taxes. Acceptance in lieu (AiL) is a provision in British tax law under which inheritance tax debts ...
