No volies neu ? Dues tasses

entry 3: Banff!

... day. After breakfast I took the bus up to the base where the cable car starts. I’m thinking this will be a good thing to do because I can’t get wet on the ride up at least. Then I look at the TV screen they have hooked up to a live webcam at the peak. The view is basically just cloud. I am not paying 30 bucks for that. So I just sat down and had a coffee and looked though the gift shop. My next stop was the Upper Hot Springs, basically just a 39 degree swimming ...

Calgary to Banff

Hello again So we have now travelled through Toronto and enjoyed the sights of the big city. We visited Drew's uni and residence when on exchange and also checked out the key sights, the Toronto Islands, CN Tower and of cause Niagara Falls. Niagara falls was amazing, 5000tonnes of water per second. Went on the Maid in the Mist for an upclose view of the falls. We flew to Vancouver on Thursday and took a bike ride ...

Family and French Food

... John and aunt Lori picked us up at the hotel and drove around town pointing out sights of interest. We stopped at the Banff Springs Hotel for a drink and enjoyed the incredible view. There is allot to see inside the hotel and is worth the drive. John and Lori took us out for a fabulous and memorable dinner afterwards at 'Le Beaujolais', on the corner of Banff Avenue and Buffalo Street. Tip ...

Banff to Lake Louise

... that awesome sound of the horn echoing through the valleys and mountains, a haunting sound! I had a great time, just chilling on that freezing platform taking it all in, the area surrounded by awesome snow capped peaks, a stunning, but freezing night, down to about -9. I headed back to the hostel, cold as hell, glooves on to no effect!! I was just chilling in my room, when 2 dudes came in. I got chatting to them telling them of my ...

Lake Louise

As we booked into the campsite at Lake Louise the warden lady advised us that there was an electric fence around the campsite to protect us from bears and that all the paths around the campsite were closed because the Rangers were trying to catch a bad bear that had attacked a woman 2 weeks earlier. We were terrified!!!

Walking on Thin Ice - Banff and Jasper

... don't want the animals to get food from the people, so they won't become domesticated (מבוית 497;ם). Anyway, during driving between the hikes we got to see some of the animals. You'll see some of the pictures, but most of them are not seen clearly because they kept moving all the time (foolish animals). Unfortunately, most of the day hikes in Banff were covered with snow, so we didn't have much ...

Changes

... I seem to know when the time is right to make a move, or a big decision, and it wasn't the right time. I doubted myself from the beginning back in November. But now the time is right. I have a plan, things have sort of come full circle, and I've been in Banff almost one whole YEAR! Sure there are still new people and such, but Banff never was a permanent thing. Nothing in my life ever seems to be. I've had both my jobs at the liquor store and the hotel, almost 11 ...

Part 1

... you have just come from, you are faced with a particularly large mountain. This sounds strange, but it didn't look real. It looked 2 dimensional. As if someone had just rolled in a really big painted back drop. On our first morning we went for a walk. There are lots of walks you can do around Banff, all levels of fitness and mobility are catered for. They are pretty well signposted too. So that morning we headed for the Cave and Basin. Which ...
