Met a lot of great people here and had a great time while staying here. I met a lot of travellers from all over the world. They all gave me advice on what the best hikes were and ever offered me a ride to some of the farther hike since I was on foot.

    Nice Hostel, Great Service

Free bus pass to make up for slightly out of town position, really helpful staff, and nice clean beds. Lockers available in the bedroom, nice showers, and hairdryers are good too! A little gutted the ice wall isn't available, but it's the end of the season and not many people are asking about it. I wouldn't be a volunteer here, signed up but the room was appalling, not the staff's fault, but it was so bad I turned down 3 nights of free accommodation. The beds are little small in terms of height; you can't sit up fully on the bottom bunk.

    Travel Blogs from Banff

    On top of the world

I have a sneaky suspicion I might have discovered my favourite place in the world.

Banff is the most beautiful place. The little town is bustling with people wrapped up from the cold and there is an amazing view at the end of every street. When you stand in the town you can look around and see snow capped mountains on all sides. It's …

Sat Oct 4. OK Photo overload today all just within a few kilometres of Banff, pictures are worth a thousand words so don't need to say too much here - saw rock formations - the hoodies overlooking the Bow Valley, on the way to Takakkaw Falls we had a road block, crews were blasting rock on the roadside preparing for winter so that put us a bit …

    The Worlds Most Amazing Drive

On Thursday 18th Sep we left Jasper to drive the Icefields Parkway down to Banff. We had been told this was one of the most scenic drives to do in all of Canada and to make sure we had the whole day dedicated to it. Unfortunately the weather was not the best with a chilly 4 degree start and reaching a max of around 14. It was also overcast and …

Well and truly back in Banff - July

Well and Truly Back in Banff July 2008 I am pretty sure it was on the 2nd (this is why you shouldn't leave these sort of entries for so long!) that we moved out of the "lovely" Arrow Hotel room into Lachlan's little studio apartment to housesit while he had a 3 week trip back to Oz (another Adelaidian by the way). We were so lucky to be able to ...
