Would recommend, and not just for the excellent water pressure.

The room smelled like something that even after two nights, we could not put our finger on. It was less unpleasant than strange, however. The beds, duvets and pillows were all comfortable, and the 24 hour reception was so helpful! Free maps were available, and employees were more than happy to go over the quickest route for you to any local highlight, and to point out any other nearby points of interest. Close proximity to a metro stop, though quite a walk from the main bus station (we opted to take a taxi, which cost us 20 euros). The bar in the hostel was nice but not too rowdy, and the walls were thick enough to allow for a quiet night of sleep provided your roommates behaved. Towels, linens, and pillows were all provided, and for 4 addition euros each morning you could also get breakfast. Lounge area had illogically-arranged furniture, with the most comfortable chairs oddly on a stage overlooking the eating area, and was not well-lit for reading outside of the small couch area. But it did offer a number of books (including tour books) for perusal if you felt so inclined. The water pressure in the showers was excellent and quite hot! The hand soap was also weirdly nice. Free wifi was efficient, and computers were available for use for a fee. Located in a less nice area of East Berlin, but does not feel unsafe and is reasonably well-lit. The Hitchhiker's Guide to the Galaxy theme made us want to read the book!

If you stay at this hostel, Fire Bar is right around the corner (within a five minute walk) and is a great way to spend a calmer night on the town. There's also a really cool graphic bookstore called Neurotitan that is located in an alley covered in beautiful urban art and graffiti about fifteen minutes away on foot. About a twenty minute (and very manageable) walk from the Berlin Wall and free museum, and another ten minutes to bars, shops and restaurants in a busier section of East Berlin. Would go again.

Today was our last day in Berlin, before we head off to the great city of Prague (in Molly's heritage country of Czechoslovakia, now known as the Czech Republic!). Starting off early, thanks to a good night's sleep, we headed off to the last big sites Berlin has to see. Despite the sprinkling rain, we visited the Reichstag, Germany's capital …

We've become accustomed to writing these entries the following morning while here in Berlin, because of the spotty wifi and late nights-- sorry! Yesterday was another history-packed day of museums. We set off on our day a little later than usual, especially after a later-than-usual night. So, after waking up at nearly noon, we skipped our …

Guten Morgen once again from the great city of Berlin! Yesterday was a good day filled with both history and fun. We started the day off by hopping on a local train to the Sachsenhausen concentration camp, about an hour outside of Berlin. Before heading towards the camp, we stopped into a local restaurant for a bite to eat, and in Bobby's opinion, …

Guten Morgen (good morning)! Sorry we didn't post last night, we don't have wifi in our hostel room so it makes it difficult to upload an entry! Anyhow, yesterday was a good introduction to Berlin! We woke up at the AirBnB in Amsterdam, packed up all of our things, and boarded the 11:01am train towards Berlin. This was our longest travel day yet ( …

Day 1/2 Wednesday, Thursday It's all true and there's no looking back now. We're here in Europe, and so far, loving every minute of it. We've completed our first destination, Berlin and wow, what a city.
