Hey, it's Fran.
After another night train we arrived into Hanoi at 6am and grabbed a taxi to our hostel, Golden Time. Michael opened up early and greeted us with tea and breakfast again - such a top bloke!
As the hostel was full, we had to wait until 8.30am before we could get into our room and take a much needed refreshing shower …

After Sapa we headed back to Hanoi to meet Katy and John. They arrived at the hostel at 1 in the afternoon. After a quick freshen up we headed out into the old town to see the mid autumn Festival. The 30th September was national children's day and the whole country were preparing to celebrate. There were people everywhere and a real buzz in the air …

Recently voted one of the new Seven Wonders of the Natural World, the bay consists of over three thousand limestone rock formations rising out of the sea (considerably more than the couple of dozen Marky and I expected). Sightseeing
... we heerlijk gegeten bij een restaurantje dat in de lonely planet werd aanbevolen.. Typisch vietnamees een HEERLIJk! Met name het toetje.. En bananen taartje in kokosmelk... Als afsluitertje een nightmarket bezocht en een drankje gedaan in een skybar... Dat was gister in vogelvlucht.. Ik was zo snugger mijn getypte stuk te deleten en moet zo alweer gaan... Crazy Hanoi!
... hier meteen mijn trekking geregeld, ik vertrek vanavond met de nachttrein voor een tocht van 4 dagen en 5 nachten in de omgeving van Bac Ha: een minder toeristische omgeving naar dorpjes die ik niet op de kaart kan vinden, dus dan zit het wel goed met het ‘off the beaten track-gevoel’.
