    A tranquil spot

This is a fantastic little hostel with very friendly staff and a fantastic atmosphere. There is bucket loads of space for relaxing and a cheap but excellent dinner option. The room was clean and the bathroom top notch. The beach is easy to get to by bus or taxi and the staff gave us all sorts of recommendations as to where to go and eat both in Playa del Carmen and in the surrounding area.

Casa del Shiva is a nice place to chill whilst in Playa del Carmen. The entire place is kept very clean, and the manager makes a fantastic breakfast each day. Internet access is also good. The combination of the beach and the pool at the house makes for a relaxing place to stay. Whilst it is not a quick walk to the main strip, it is good to get away for the tourist strip and the local transport "collectivos" are very easy and cheap to use.

... t our drivers fault, another bus was trying to sneak past us and had left his door open which clipped against the side of our bus. We got though the Mexican border crossing with no problems except for our guide Andres, unfortunately they wouldn't let him cross the border. Andres is from Costa Rica and apparently there is a bit of conflict between the counties. First time he went though the border crossing he was held for 3 hours an they flagged his passport. As his passport ...

... the cold and rain we all had a great time.

Two other couples from Ryan and Clarice's circle of friends showed up this afternoon to spend a long weekend with us. We all decided to go to the theater this evening for dinner and a show. The food was good and the show was delightfully cheesy.

After the show we went to the rooftop bar for dancing and shena****ns. We found out that it was one of the bartenders birthdays ...

We thought it might be just house beer, spirits and wines but no, every and any drink is included. Every spirit you could think of and more. Cocktails, everything is available. There is a 24hr snack bar (Karina is very excited about this one) where they have make your own nachos, skewers sometimes, chicken nuggets.... And a big thing of cheeses and fruit. There ...

Pretty much fell into a food coma afterwards but we had a walk round, went into this cool red lit hotel and bar (looks like a modern brothel). Went for a drink and then went home for bed, tired! Cozumel ...

We spend our day kayaking in clear kayak. The kayak is transparent and you can see the ocean floor thru the bottom of you kayak. If you think that is cool... it sounds better than it was.

After kayaking we saw dolphins and snorkeled. The water was very clear. There were plenty of fish. For the first time in ...
