... it wouldn't be my first choice. Lots of adjustments would have to be made before I made the big move. There is much more walking (and I understand why after seeing their roads) which I would need to get used to. Also, I feel I would need to know the native languages in order to successfully live in Brussels. English got us around town but as a resident it would definitely be crucial to have fluency in both French and Dutch since one is used as frequently as the other.

This weekend I stayed in Brussels instead of traveling because it's always good to have a weekend in the city you are living in. It started with Thursday night which was just UNBELIEVABLE! Olivia came into town from Metz, and we went to the Felice Brothers concert at AB. The concert was so much fun, but it seemed we were the only ones dancing or really getting into the music. Maybe that's why the band members noticed us? Who knows, either way after the concert ended, ...

Tomorrow, early in the morning we leave for a short visit to Rome. We ha've never been in Rome before and I have been in Italy just one time, for work (so never really visited it). Expectations are great, weather forecast is fantastic and we are looking forward to a few days relaxing and enjoying the city of Rome.

Mechelen is very attractive with a river running through the centre and a lot of small boutique shops. We later found that there are also some bigger shops, such as C & A and H & M and a really good shoe chain called Torfs where David bought some new brown shoes and Marion a belt with the discount voucher from the shoe purchase.
