... a little storm roll over the lake towards us. It rained for all of 3 minutes. Unfortunately we have discovered that a really noisy group of rails has checked into the hotel. I don't understand why they have to be so noisy, do they come out of the army deaf or just oblivious to other people. We chose a quiet hotel so we wouldn't have to deal with them for once and here they are. Vicki and I are trying to think of what we did to deserve that **** that has happened to us over ...

This strike happens apparently every year, and shuts down a lot of the roads to and from Uyuni, making travel very unpredictable, which we couldn't handle due to our upcoming flights! Instead, we ended up hanging out in Copacabana for a few days, and La Paz ...

We got up early and headed off to the South Island at sunrise. It was a four hour hard trek up and down steep paths to make it in time for our 10:30am boat back to copacabana. The views were stunning looking out from the island. We passed by several donkeys used to carry supplies for the locals. I really enjoyed my time here as it was very quaint and tranquil. As we walked so early we hardly passed by any other tourists, so I felt very lucky to experience the peace and ...
