This palace was Built by Romans but has also been ruled by the King of Hungary for a short time before Venice took over. For a long time it was a Venetian Palace. It was even occupied by Germany for a short time during the Second World War. I enjoyed exploring the narrow lane ways within the Palace walls where there are quirky shops selling ...

It was late, but still warm and even verging on hot. Narodni Trg had become one of our favourite spots in the Old Town, with its expanse of white marble pavement surrounded by authentically medieval buildings, and all their arcades, balconies and elegant frontages. Just a little bit of rain, and cloudy skies! Sunday we decided to explore Marjan Park which is located at the edge of Split! After walking up about half a million stairs, we finally made it to the highest lookout point! It was a breathtaking view of the Adriatic Sea, mountains in the background and then ...

    Hanging in the Hostel

... website! Pretty cool! After the movie we went back out to the supermarket to grab something for dinner and ended up buying some chips, sauce and beers then went back to the hostel to cook them up. Then we realized there was no oven! Oops! So we had to improvise and use the microwave to defrost them, then fry them up in a pan, on an electric stove that just didn't want to heat up! It took ages! But it was ok, because we were hanging out and chatting with ...
