Final Destination

Stumbling into Hong Kong for the largest sporting event on the city's calendar was pure luck and only as a result of our flight routing... and fortune smiled even more sweetly when - having inside knowledge from new local friends - we turned up at the Hong Kong Stadium and easily bought tickets for the first afternoon of the Rugby Sevens! Unsure …

Hong Kong Happy :-)

So, we have now been in HK for just over 24 hours......Andrew has now gotten over his upset at realising he won't be able to do anything in the UK for the next three months (that sunk in after our trip to Westfield to view Bond on our last afternoon in London - although he did leave on a high note after discovering James Bond's dad was called …

Oodles of noodles: Hong Kong, gateway to the East

A travel blog entry by rtwin9weeks

After weeks of 'travelling' in easy English-speaking and easy-to-navigate countries with grid systems aplenty, it was about time to start the real ‘travelling’ and Hong Kong was the place chosen to start this adventure. It was a gentle introduction to the continent since Hong Kong is where East meets West. Where double-decker London …

Chinese Simon Says.........

A travel blog entry by jbrookes

We started the day with a few last minute things, waiting for a plumber then going down to We buy any to sell Melissa's Mini which she was devastated about. Then off to the airport, we got to Heathrow with a few hours to kill, decided to go for a few beers, then realised our gate was miles away and made it with a couple of minutes to spare …

A Quick Trip to Hong Kong

On to Hong Kong by overnight train, as we had to go out of the country for our double entry visa. Hong Kong definitely feels like a different country than China.. People from Hong Kong refer to Chinese as the Mainlanders. When you come into Hong Kong from Shenzhen, China there is a full immigration process and even a huge barbed wire fence

We spent four nights here and were very impressed with the location (right on Nathan Road, a short walk from the Star Ferry terminal for short hops to Central or Wan Chai or to get across to Lantau) and cleanliness. The room was small, but this is what we expected from HK accommodation. What was handy was the large space under the bed - more than enough room to keep our packs out of the way. Simon was very friendly and helpful. Clean towels daily.

Very clean, friendly owner ( Simon) & great location. Rooms are small but I think that's typical in Hong Kong (at this price at least)
